Pagoda in Dali, Yunnan province, China, during WWII. This is one of three pagodas within a single walled compound. The compound a had been appropriated for use by Nationalist troops. Later, after the communist revolution, the compound was also used by troops, but by PLA troops. See the whole compound and all three pagodas here.
